Turnitin: Plagiarism Detection & Feedback for Student Writing

Turnitin is an online service that checks for plagiarism and provides feedback for student writing assignments. Faculty can use Turnitin as a standalone service or as an assigned activity within Eagle Online.

Using Turnitin as a Standalone Service

Faculty will first need to set up an account through Don White, Teaching & Learning Resources, at don.white@hccs.edu. Support resources for using Turnitin can be found here:


Using Turnitin with Eagle Online (Moodle)

Turnitin can also be used directly within Eagle Online by adding a Turnitin Assignment under Add an activity…


Faculty Support

Faculty can schedule a consultation with a faculty mentor for in-person support using Turnitin. For technical issues, faculty should contact Don White, Teaching & Learning Resources, at don.white@hccs.edu.


Student Support

Students should work through their instructor to resolve an issues or use the online Turnitin Help Center.
